Photos 3rd February 2008

Starting at Hendon Central station, we walked to the Welsh Harp. From there we carried on through suburbia to Fryent Country Park and Barnhill. After a circuit around there we doubled back, taking a slightly different route through the Welsh Harp. Then back the way we came to Hendon Central. The Welsh Harp was much less muddy than expected due to prepared footpaths, and was a pleasant wander despite the noise of the nearby North Circular. Fryent Country Park and Barnhill, my local patch, were muddy but very pleasant as usual. I always love visiting the pond at the summit of Barnhill, with the great view of Wembley Stadium. With my new camera I was able to zoom in closer than ever before on the front of the stadium. The local parakeets also captured the imagination of the walkers.

I didn't take any shots of the Barnhill pond but, being my local stomping ground, there are plenty of previous Barnhill shots in the General and Weather piccies pages in my main piccies pages.

First look at the Welsh Harp lake from Cool Oak Bridge (looking South). Welsh Harp swan. Walking along the north bank of the southern section of the harp. Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline.

Looking across the harp towards the North Circular. A closeup of Wembley Stadium. My best parakeet shot in Barnhill wood. Pausing to watch the parakeets in Barnhill wood. Looking south from the summit of Barnhill. The stadium dominates the skyline again. And playing with my camera's zoom to look into the front entrance.
